In pursuit of excellence – 2 years on
Almost two years ago I agreed to acquire Rushmoor Body Shop and merge it with Bumps & Scuffs. As this took place during lockdown many people thought it was a very bold move; some actually went as far as to say it was daft.
A major reason for buying the business was to control the quality of the repairs. Previously some of our repairs were sub-contracted to local body shops. Regretfully, some of the results were not as good as I wished.
So, have we been successful? The short answer is yes but not without some effort and additional cost.
- The paint oven had been poorly maintained resulting in the quality of the finish not achieving the consistent high quality I demanded for my customers. A considerable amount of money has been spent on bringing it up to the standard needed.
- The paint system was very outdated. A state-of-the-art paint system has been installed thus ensuring a perfect match with whatever colour our customers’ cars are.
- New equipment, including dent pullers, shot blasting cabinets, air compressors to name but a few items were installed ensuring that the damage was repaired to the highest standard.
- And, as important as any of the investment, has been the recruitment of three extremely well qualified technicians.
So, some two years later, I am satisfied that this body shop can achieve the very highest quality of repair.
The acquisition of Rushmoor Bodyshop has also allowed me to serve a wide area covering Farnham, i Tilford, Frensham, Churt, Headley, Headley Down, Lindford, Bordon, Kingsely, Alton, Crondall, Church Crookham, Fleet, Aldershot, Farnborough, Camberley. Locations such Haselmere, Liphook and Godalming can now be serviced as well.
So, rest assured, over the two body shops, I can ensure high quality, great value repairs irrespective of size.
